We have already seen some images of this neglected church in two earlier posts: A Sad Preview and A Lecture. After yesterday's excellent lecture by our friend Stefano Ceccarini about the history of this church, we are at liberty to post the final batch of these pictures, taken last October.A view of the ruins from the organ loft, above the entrance. The roof is still standing, but the suspended ceiling is falling apart.

It has a lot of architectural promise, but, my oh my, what a lot of work (and money) it will take to restore it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a complete, sad, tragedy! I wish some rich Italian countess would pay for the repair!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful stained glass there! It's a pity to loose such a nice building. I hope it will be reconstructed somehow.
ReplyDeleteThe windows continue to provide life to its inside. May time enable to keep it alive. What a beautiful place indeed. Please have a good Sunday.
