Cultural Signs

Circolo Culturale Via Michon, via Michon, Livorno“Circolo Culturale” is Cultural Circle, “Via Michon” is the name of the club, taken from the street, the sign is... at least a bit strange!Gruppo Arti Figurative Ceramiche e Scultura, via degli Asili, LivornoThis is literally a Group for Figurative Arts, Ceramic and Sculpture which do not advertise itself very skillfully.Schopenhauer Cafè, via degli Asili, LivornoLast but not least, my favorite among these strange signs: the fake scroll of the philosophical “Schopenhauer Cafè”.

  1. They are all rather funky. I agree, the last is the best.

  2. The first sign looks like a headstone from a cemetery; but the third seems to be the winner.

  5. your shots made me think (again) that graphic design, logo and lay out are important today as it has been for a very long time.( sorry about my english.... I should have had a cup of coffee before writing..

  6. I love the second one, it's so funny. I bet that this is rather amatour group of artists! The first one, well is a bit strange - looks like tombstone rather. My favourite is Shopenhaure Cafe - sounds like Sunday Philosphy Club for me:)

  7. I love the way the first one looks - the color and texture, etc., even though it's weird. The second is a real find. Graphic artists in need of practice, for sure. The third one? I hope the cafe is more fun than the guy!

  8. Love all the little signs you have in Livorno. The bottom one sounds like it's where pretentious people go.

  9. I thought your first photo was a headstone - it looks like one. Like the cafe one, it's very cute.

  12. I like them all, I actually like the weird middle one.

  15. All of them are great , but I need to confess that I loved the first one. Those rococo lines are really charming.I could not understand the meaning of it in fact, but I liked the feel of action in those lines.
Have a wonderful weekend dear friend!
Thank you so much for sharing these lovely details!

  19. Any cultural circle worth its salt should at least have a strange sign!

  21. Very clever post. You certainly work hard on finding so many photos to explicate a theme. For me, sometimes one relatively interesting a photo a day is difficult.

  22. Nice series. My favorite is first one with its (I'm guessing) fake patina of time.

  23. The signs couldn't be more different! Great choices!

  24. The second one should be more arty. It looks kind of chunky and boring. I agree with you that the third is best.

  25. I agree with you about the second sign. Not very reassuring.
