Yesterday, on a rainy Saturday afternoon, a demonstration of thousands of people has crossed the center of Livorno, from Piazza della Vittoria to Piazza Cavallotti. They were protesting against the loss of jobs caused by a string of factory closures, which will have a severe impact on the already dire state of our city's economy.
Last October TRW Automotive, now owned by the German group ZF Friedrichshafen, has announced the closing of its plant in Livorno, with the layoff hundreds of workers. “Livorno non si piega” (Livorno won't give up) was one of the most repeated slogans during the demonstration.

Doesn't sound good my friend. Sorry to hear.
Good demonstration shots, VP. Sorry to hear about the job losses.
Good for them. I wish more people here would get worked up over things.
That certainly does not sound good.
I certainly appreciate and understand their frustration.
I hope their protests bring some positive results VP.
It is a sad situation.
I like to enlarge your photos and look at each face. People with new worries.
I hope things will soon turn and become better!
Strong and important documentary images.
Very sad situations, I saw these demonstrations on TV...
How very sad for those living there.
This is a story that is repeated in many towns and cities these days.
Looks like France...
So sad. It would be a terrible thing to lose one's job these days!
Sad news for everyone who worked there, and their families.
