A couple of years ago, after a thorough cleaning of the facade, two resin copies of the original statues of Innocence and Mansuetude went back to their place above the entrance of the Santissima Annunziata (Most Holy Annunciation) church.
The statues were missing from the facade since the almost complete destruction of the building in the Second World War. The original sculptures are now visible in the vestibule of the church.

It does make sense to have replicas outside, exposed to the weather, but I am glad that the originals are still preserved and on display in a protected place.
Nice to see that the originals are preserved.
Exquisite work in the originals. It's good that they're inside.
Good thing they are preserving them.
They are so beautiful, but in a way it is sad that we have to replace originals by copies everywhere and keep the originals safe inside...
Glad to hear they're back!
I'm glad they are safe inside now. They are lovely!
Great post VP. The fake statues look great.
I'm glad to see that they're back!
Such statues have a life of their own.
It's good to have the originals inside the church. It is like those museum exponates, which are mostly originals, replaced by replicas at their place.

Glad to know the wonderful original statues are now on display.
