Around the Fortress

Fortezza Nuova, Livorno
Many younger kids have never been before inside the recently reopened Fortezza Nuova.

I have never been able to discover if this teepee of sorts had some kind of cover.

A bench with a view and a nicely restored cannon at hand.

Looks like the kind of place that could easily unleash a child's imagination.

Hopefully the cannon isn't pointed at the teepee, lol! The first shot is marvellous, it has to be a brilliant place for kids to play and learn about history!

ciel - The cannon is pointed at the San Marco Gate as a memorial to popular resistance during the siege of Livorno by the Austrians troops in 1849. The tepee is safely behind the gun.

So many subjects, offered by this fortress! In such a place you could always find something interesting enough to be photographed, isn't it?
