They're done here. It's a difficult thing to discuss. On the one hand, it's sad that it happens in the first place... on the other, how long should that stay in place?
Always sad to see. I go by one here that has been there for more than 2 years and is always decorated with flowers and candles. It is a memorial to a very popular teacher.

ReplyDeleteWe have them here too. So sad. This one looks like it is either new or very well kept.
ReplyDeleteWm asks a good question. Haven't seen one for a long time, but a previous ghost bike was in place for several years on one of our boulevards.
ReplyDeleteHeartbreak for someone or several persons.
ReplyDeleteThese are always sad to see. I haven't seen one in DC in a long time.
ReplyDeleteWonderful memorial. I don't like all of the crosses we have here.
ReplyDeletesad ... hope displays such as this may prevent future accidents .. watch for bikes!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers break the ghostly whiteness and add a sign of hope for a safer future.
ReplyDeleteI see them here. Not are only a sign of a tragic death but also one that more than likely could have been avoided.
ReplyDeleteSad, but also very pretty....
ReplyDeleteWe should not take life for granted.
I have never seen a bike decorated like this before.
(Here we have candles and flowers.)
Really gets the point across. This photo has such a soft, human touch.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

I have never seen a bike placed with it. Impressive.
ReplyDeleteSad to see, but it is a nice bike.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen one similar here...

ReplyDeleteI hope never paint my bike in white
Ah! Another ghost bike rears its head... with flowers no lass.

ReplyDeleteVery sad but so well maintained.
ReplyDeletese ne parla sempre troppo poco, grazie
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad VP. I often see flowers and a cross in different parts along the roads, but never a bike.
ReplyDeleteHow sad. It's a good reminder for cyclists and motorists to be more careful.
ReplyDeleteA sad sight...
ReplyDeleteUn dolce pensiero...Arianna
