The back of the synagogue is decorated with five sets of 32 small triangular windows. Their effect is visible in the pictures taken inside the temple, while their number may also have some kabbalistic meaning.

ReplyDeleteOh wow VP, what a find for the theme. So enjoyed going back and looking from the inside also, the triangle cut outs make a unique backdrop, wonder if they ever use lighting to enhance the effect.
ReplyDeleteThat's an extraordinary building!
ReplyDeleteI would think, given that it is a religious building, that yes indeed, the number of cutouts has a religious significance, but I'm not at all familiar enough with Judaism to have a go at figuring out what it would be.
Excellent VP!
ReplyDeleteA terrific building for the theme; checked the link and loved the fourth photo with the choir. It's a great photo to show the front of the synagogue in its loveleness.
