If you want to buy a road sign “improved” by Clet Abraham, this may be the right occasion. After removing the modified signs at the time, the municipality of Livorno is now selling them on eBay:
A pristine traffic sign costs already between 70 and 90 Euro, so not much value added here. I won't spend a penny on some neatly taped road signs, but it seems that some art lover in our municipality would now like better these things in an 'exhibition'... Clet Abraham is really a marketing genius!
Does that mean that LIVORNO ( I mean the politicians who have to do with money,) bought the art, and than sold it again to get perhaps more money for it ...... ?
I will not tell the Norwegian politicians about it. Not yet.
How fun is that! What a fun garden sign that would be. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love the one in the photo.
ReplyDeleteVP, you have to admit that Clet Abraham has a pretty good sense of humor. I like the one he did with a zipper.
ReplyDeleteWhat an original way for your municipality to make some money!
ReplyDeleteBut at those prices, I myself will have to pass on this opportunity.
I wonder what they'll do with the money...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lot of fun! You buying one?

Ha ha, I hope the artist will see some of that money.

70-90 Euros for a normal sign?? Oi, that annoys me even more if I think how carelessly Jerusalem street signs are painted, full of misspellings.
ReplyDeleteClever marketing or simply clever. I still love to see them in unexpected places.
ReplyDeleteBises,
