CP 409 Ingianni

Coast Guard patrol boat CP 409 Ingianni, LivornoThe 34-meter CP 409 Ingianni, built in 1992 at the CRN shipyard in Ancona, is the biggest patrol boat of the Italian Coast Guard. The red stripe is the international symbol of the coast guard, usually personalized by each country, in our case with a thin green stripe and an anchor.

    Oh! I just learned something new. Sub consciously I recognized that ship as belonging to the coast guard and now I know why - the stripe!

    It looks like a very fast and efficient vessel VP, I must check out our boats and see what they use to personalize the red stripe. That sky looks a bit ominous!

    Your Coast Guard guys seem all the more heroic since we watched them in dangerous situations around the Costa Concordia.

    This is surely a massive Coast Guard ship. I didn't know about the red stripe's meaning.
