  1. What a great place it must be to spend a whole day, passing by, without being felt.

Please have a good new week.

  3. I like the picture of reflections in a pitcher...

This must be essentially a flea market, right?

  9. @ Jacob - They wouldn't call it a flea market here, but it is not much more than that...

  11. Lee brought back elephants like that from India. I love the pitcher, but like many of us with cameras, you remain elusive.

  15. I would purchase every one of them! The suspended elephant photo is so lovely.

I need an authoratative translation from you. :)
My friends and I saw Le Nozze di Figaro (conducted by Placido Domingo himself!!) last night and are trying to figure out if the translation for "spatola impressa" is really "strawberry mark", a specific type of birthmark, or is it a splatula-shaped birthmark.
What is the Italian term for "strawberry birthmark"?
    Thanks much.

  16. @ Tash - The Italian for birthmark is “voglia” which means also desire, craving, with the obvious implications...
In the case of Figaro this is the plot device to reconcile him with his long lost parents.
The shape of the birthmark in this case would be decisive and probably this one was really spatula-shaped.

  17. Thanks much VP. My friends and I will be asking you more in the future.

On a different topic, I hope "La prima cosa bella" does well in the Oscars. Can't wait to see it.
