This is the “Parco Centro Città” (City Center Park). We can see a couple of crane where once was the “Odeon” movie theater and the “Astoria” residences in background. The park has a small pond with some shy fountains.Always quiet and mostly deserted on an early Sunday afternoon, it takes almost the whole space inside a large city block delimited by “Via Ricasoli”, “Corso Mazzini”, “Via San Carlo” and “Via Verdi”.
Well, this is certainly a beautiful park in the midst of the city...and it looks clean and well-kept!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful day there - love that blue sky!
That is a lovely park.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice place to wander around when it is not crowded.
ReplyDeleteLovely park VP! Love how green it is.
ReplyDeleteNot often that we see green on LDP. Glad you have some grass. :)
ReplyDeleteOdeon, nice name for a 20th century theater!
è un posto da favola, immagino quante passeggiate, trovo anch'io le fontane un pò timide.AH!AH!AH!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to have park in the city especially such a lovely one:)
ReplyDeleteI think people that can have a house near there is very fortunate!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place and your pictures perfect!
Léia
It does look incredibly deserted.
ReplyDeleteWhy are there so little people about? It looks like a really lovely park. I like the simple fountains ;D
ReplyDelete@ Kaori - Most of my fellow citizen are still eating their pranzo domenicale (Sunday lunch) at this time, which is often an occasion for minor family reunions.
ReplyDeleteLovely park. Always nice to have large parks in city areas.
ReplyDeleteWhere have all the people gone---
well now I know after reading your last comment. Sundy lunch with family is wonderful--we would call it brunch. MB
We also had an Odeon movie theater in Lisbon... The building was falling apart last time I passed by but have no idea what's going on there now. Have to check it.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think Sunday afternoon would be just the time to head to the park. Glad you got it all to yourself!
ReplyDeleteYou will have to go back in a busy day.
ReplyDeleteThat blue blue sky makes me think it's already a crisp fall day. But then, hey, we're into October... when did THAT happen! :-D
