I didn't know we had a Pirates' House in Livorno. No lions today, but a double elephant at the Sunday market. The top part of a towering street light in “Piazza della Vittoria”.“Parco Centro Città”, a sudden flight of pigeons. We have some Sardinian independentists in Livorno: Fintzas a s'indipendentzia! Amus a gherrare (We are going to fight until the independence!).Please enlarge the image to fully appreciate the livery of this bike.
More Walks
VP your walks are great. Wonderful images. Love the Pirate house.
ReplyDeleteCool pirate photo. and two interesting bikes.
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me when buying elephant images always to chose those with the trunk unlifted since it's a sign of good luck. Your elephants are perfect models.
ReplyDeleteI've been kept hostage by Blogger for several days which was frustrating, but I'm back now enjoying all the posts.
another fine walk. thank you again for showing us what you observe as you move through your day.
ReplyDeleteI do like your walks. I wonder what would possess someone to have a pirate death head painting on a house...the elephants are beautiful; probably made of elephant ivory?
ReplyDeleteLove the bikes, too, but I wouldn't be caught dead riding either one of them.
You found some really cute stuff on today's walk! Love that bike. And the pirate house is neat too!
ReplyDeleteEven the pirate couldn't scare away the graffiti writers. Too bad. I like the ornate lamp post. Thanks for giving the links to earlier walks. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteThat's very unique to have a pirate on your house, and that is one fancy bike!
ReplyDeleteFrom the whimsical to the dead serious on this walk.
ReplyDeleteSo, the "skull and cross BONES" has been transformed into skull and daggers?
I suppose one should be happy as long as the independence fight only takes place on the walls. Still, vandalism is a disgrace.
ReplyDeleteYou always get the best in your walkings, I'm enchanted by those pigeons, what a fabulous shot! :)

ReplyDeleteOh NO! Pirates have taken over Livorno!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your walks.
ReplyDeleteI want those elephants!
ReplyDeleteMy attention was especially caught by the second pic. Everything looks so kitsch there! :-) Have you noticed the blue heart in the background? And I wonder what made the author of the elephants imagine a scene that simply never happens in nature! :-)))
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds during your walk! That photo which caught the flight of the pidgeons is amazing!
ReplyDeleteKeep walking, VP!:) You always find interesting things to show us. Thanks!
