End of May Walk

This roaring lion doesn't look neither stupid nor ugly and stare at us from a monumental street light in “Piazza della Vittoria”.We have our Mouth of Truth, and you don't have to queue for it.I really like this wall, it is photogenic with every light. One of the most ornate and creative weather vane in town.Something is wrong with this dumpster...Some young Livornesi are still so Soviet-minded to write their love messages in Italian, but using the Cyrillic alphabet. “Mi piaci da morire” would translate as: I like you to die for.

  1. Great fun, VP. That lion, I think, has bad breath - don't get too close!

Don't know much about the "truth."

The weather vane is quite "weathered."

    Someone dumped the dumpster.

Italians are such fun people. But why did you write in Cyrillic?

  3. These are all fun. I don't think anyone could portray Livorno as you do. We are all lucky :)

  7. The lion looks angry! Like you, I love the light on that sort of mosaic.

I used to have a German postcard in Cyrillic that said: my computer is kaputt. I lost it when I moved from my office to an open space :-(. Not the only thing I lost in the process.

Oh... that weather vane is absolutely gorgeous! ;-)

  8. Long live all things bizarre!
You seem to find them all.

Meah Shearim should use metal dumpsters like those. They would not burn like our plastic ones that the Haredim like to protest with.

Right now I'd like to put the hands of the world media into the Mouth of Truth.

  10. Let's start ... The lion is very impressive and I love the world VERACI.
The second one "Mouth of Truth", didn't get my soul at the VERACI lion got...
The wall...hmmm I like a lot the idea about a mosaic and it would be great for some background in my collages, it's beautiful! :)
That weather vane is vintage and cool but oh gosh...I'm enchanted by the blue sky, let me dream now!
For sure something wrong about the contenitore! It woke up with bad mood today!LOL
About the love words in Cyrillic, it's nice but the last time he would use a paper!
    Great walk!

  11. A few nights ago I saw a movie in which Livorno was part of the setting. The filmmaker did not make Livorno nearly as wonderful as you make it.

  12. @ brattcat - Now I am curious to know the title of the movie...

  13. Soviet-minded youth? Don't they teach these kids anything in school anymore? Must be some form of rebellion rather than any political beliefs.

  14. Fun photos! Because I'm so fond of my fingers I think I'm more scared of the Mouth of Truth than the roaring lion! ;D
