Yesterday I arrived just in time to watch the sailboats leaving port for a race. There was a lot of activity even here, far from the racing waters, and I caught the three sailboats of our Navy coming back.
“Orsa Maggiore” (Ursa Major)
“Stella Polare” (Pole Star)
“Corsaro II” (Privateer II)

What a great timing! A lovely day for a race. Beautiful pictures VP.
ReplyDeleteI like the composition of these photos. And the sail boats looks great. The Orsa Maggiore looks expensive.
ReplyDeleteAre the sailboats from yesterdays foreign navy? I think I see the Marine Self-defence Force's flag! Seems like a beautiful day for a race!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful shots, VP. What a gorgeous day it must have been.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful, VP. Anyone of these photos would be worth framing and hanging. Couldn't you sell them to interested parties?
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew how to share this picture. Trying Facebook and Twitter did not seem to work.
ReplyDeleteVery nice colors against the sea; I especially like the composition on the first image.
ReplyDeleteSun and sea its great combination and when such beautiful sail boats are added it looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteAh, what glorious photos!
ReplyDeletePS. Haven't visited recently because I have a typical Minnesota summer cold with sleeplessness and lack of stamina--not much fun! Haven't been around much as a result! Have a good week-end!
SUN and SEA..... Wonderful!! :-)
ReplyDelete@ Kaori - Some Japanese officers were taking part to the regattas and, in the first picture, they were flying the Rising Sun Flag of your Navy.
ReplyDelete@ Jacob - I am not sure if there is a market for pictures of sailboats slowly motoring to port with folded sails.
Such pretty boats! But they would look nicer with the sails out. You should complain that they're ruining your photos! ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ships. I always wanted a sailboat. Now, I'd rather just look at them.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful sailboats!
ReplyDeleteI like these pictures. The boats look so nice against the beautiful sky. They really are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSailboats are just so pretty! And your photos are gorgeous, as always.
ReplyDeleteI really hope I get to sail in one during my lifetime.
Oh my those are beautiful boats..
ReplyDeleteFrame them they are excellent shots besides being beautiful sailboats.
I took some sailboat pictures yesterday--but not as nice as yours. MB
The amount of boats and flags in the first pic make it look just fantastic! Great composition, VP!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are magical, the sea is beautiful, the boats are gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteWalla Walla: town named after Indian tribe... but I swear the wine was excellent (and expensive).
By the way VP, you definitely bought your edition of the 'Os Lusíadas' at the Book Fair whose pic I posted yesterday, because it has been taking place there for many years, whether it's in April, May or June... :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenes and captures.
ReplyDeleteLove the harbor views.
Your sun and sea would be beautiful, and enough, even without the beautiful boats.
ReplyDeleteI love photo #1 with the dark sky and light foreground.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots VP !
ReplyDeleteLéia :)
Beautiful boats. Beautiful skies. What more could a person ask for?
