  1. Excellent theme post. If there's anything fisherpeople must do is learn to wait! I used to do a lot of fishing, but I don't think I'd have the patience for it anymore!

Not when I can go to a restaurant and order the kind of fish I want and have it prepared to my specifications.

    Do you fish, VP?

  2. Looks like he's been there quite a while! But I guess that's part of what's fun about fishing :D

  3. It looks like he knows a lot about waiting. He seems very good at it. His attitude is so . . . perfectly . . . waiting. Great job on theme day!

  4. What a great theme this is turning out to be. I can't wait to see the other posts. This is such an excellent illustration of waiting, VP.

  5. I guess they do a lot of waiting. I'd probably fall asleep.

  6. You're at your best with water - great shot of the fisherman.

  7. Great theme day photo of WAITING! I wonder how long they had to WAIT to catch the first fish?!

  8. Oh yes, when you fish you need patience. Perfect for our waiting theme and love both photos. Love the guy's posture in the first one, as if he's half asleep.

  9. This is the sort of waiting that is beyond my ability, VP. I am glad others can do it although your fisherman seems to be multi-tasking to some extent.

A most appropriate post for our Theme Day.

  10. excellent portrait for theme day and you can see that this guy is a regular and has all of the right gear to wait for as long as it takes to get the fish he wants. great choice for theme day

  11. Hopefully not waiting for the same fish!

  12. He looks either asleep or dead bored.

Fishing, waiting... Not the kind of activity I'm prepared to fill my life with!

    Nice take on the theme.

They are probably very good at WAITING!

  15. This is truly along the lines of "good things come to those that wait." Clever post for this theme day!

  16. While WAITING is part of the fishing scenario, it is a most relaxing and enjoyable activity.

  17. I think it's a cool way to be waiting and relaxing! This place is so peaceful, I would love to take a time like this guy in this picture and so on...it's great my friend, I'm envious here! :)

  18. Fishing and waiting just go together.

  19. Waiting for the fish to bite! Excellent selection for Theme Day!

  20. Fishing is usually the longest wait.

  21. It looks a bit chilly. I hope it's worth the wait!

  22. I don't know how they do it. In my opinion, the only thing more boring than fishing is watching someone else fish! :)

Great choice for the theme day though!

  23. I have often thought that fishermen prefer the waiting to the actual catching of fish. Catching fish is just an excuse to go out on the dock and sit in the sun. The fellow in the top photo looks a little chilly, though!

  24. This is the most wonderful way of "waiting". Not too warm this time of the year...
Cheers and thanks for the visit!

  25. @ Jacob - No, I don't fish. It's a hobby a bit too frenetic for me...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Or playing chess? I suppose that's a case of either waiting or frantically analyzing your options - depending on how you look upon it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Frenetic? ;-) I would have said boring. Ah well...

  28. @ ciel - I was obviously joking...

  29. I'm sure the guy on the top photo is sound asleep!

  30. @ Steffe - You may be right... Does it count as waiting?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Heh. Heh! Nice joke. Frenetic, indeed. You could fish and catch up on your sleep or your reading!

    You're a funny guy!

  32. That's why I don't fish...too much waiting! Great shots though.

  33. Doesn't look as though he has caught much. I admire the patience of fishers. Not for me.

  35. Isn't the whole purpose of fishing, waiting? Maybe I have that slightly wrong, but a great choice.

  36. That ship is HUGE! Do you fish, VP, or do you just shoot and run? '~)

  37. Excellent theme day post, I hope his waiting was not in vain.

  38. Ah, I like this. The most common attribute a fisheman needs is infinite patience as he (or she) waits for the fish to bite. Was the fellow rewarded? Or was it a case of "It was T..H..I..S.. big, but it got away"?

  39. Any fisherman is great for this theme, but your first composition is way too cool!

  40. They are not waiting - they are busy fishing - waiting is like staring to see if the bus is coming :)
