The “Ponte dell'Angiolo” (Angel's Bridge) seen from under the arch of the “Ponte di San Giovanni”, in background the ramparts of the “Fortezza Nuova”.
The name comes from a still existing old street, “Via dell'Angiolo”, which was probably so called after an ancient inn, the “Osteria dell'Angiolo”. The angel in the name was a coin of the time.

ReplyDeleteThe echoing of the curves in your first photograph is eye-catching VP. It must be calming to be intersected by all these waterways. From the top of my street I am now able to glimpse Sydney Harbour and that always fills me with contentment.

ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine public washing places were still around only 60 years ago or so. It's really not such a long time ago, but we've made a lot of advances since then.
All shots are great and the place is beautiful, but the first perspective beats them all!
