Just some eateries signs, grouped by shape. The first one is a restaurant “Antico Borgo” (Ancient Borough) off “Borgo dei Cappuccini”, as you can see from the hungry friar. The Pizzeria “Da Cecco” is not so famous for its pizza but it is one of the best “tortai” (vendors of “torta” and “5 e 5”) in Livorno.“L'Angolo Bar” is a bar on corner of “Via Magenta” with a perfect sign for this series.
This is the oval/egg series and I'm hungry just imagining eating at each of these. What will we see next?
ReplyDeleteVery nice business signs. I like the oval shapes too, they would make wonderful pins.
ReplyDeleteThe hungry friar is so cool! Great choices for this sign post!
ReplyDeleteGood idea for a post. It's interesting to see different styles of signs.
ReplyDeleteI very much like your collection of signs. Since they are all the same shape they seem like they belong together even though they are quite different from each other.
ReplyDeleteI just love Italy! All the wonderful restaurants. I like the places where there are only two kinds of wine: red or white from the local area with a bottle cap, no cork or lable. And it's always great wine & perfect with the cuisine.
ReplyDeleteExcellent. I like signs, too. But, you need to explain "torta" and "5 e 5" to a dummy like me...
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that you have pizzerias there just like we do here. :-)
Lovely oval signs. I've never noticed any shop signs in that shape down here in Molfetta.
ReplyDeleteNow you've made me hungry!
ReplyDeleteI like all of them for different reasons, but that hungry friar has to be the cutest.
Beautiful signs!
ReplyDeleteLéia :)
@ Jacob - The links are already there!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very satisfying shape for a sign, VP. Not easy, though, to adequately fit the type to the shape.
ReplyDeleteWow... I went out yesterday and took some photos of signs in Versailles...
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I think it's time for lunch! I really like the last one!
Thanks VP. Now I really do feel like a dummy!
ReplyDeleteInteresting way to view signs. Yr making me hungry!!! :-D
ReplyDeleteBella serie di ovali, bella idea, belle foto!
ReplyDeleteThey are all just great!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week:)
Are they making signs now to please the locals, or the tourists? In any case, they are delightful.

ReplyDeleteI can see that everything comes in three lately. You're going to launch a new fashion, the "Daily Tri-Photo" (or Tri-Photos? no idea which one is correct) :) Love how the friar looks ready to attack lunch :)
ReplyDelete@ tapirgal - I doubt any tourist in Livorno could find one of these places!
ReplyDelete@ Andreea - These are mostly old photos collected and grouped for generic posts to be published during my holidays.
Haha I'd love to try the Antico Borgo, looks like it might be fun, if nothing else!
ReplyDeleteI want to reserve a seat at the pizzeria. My husband likes big butts :) Extra cheese please!
