If I weren't so gullible, I'd say that you have a way with gulls. I keep trying. I talk to them, ask them nicely to sit up straight, hint that I'll give them a piece of fish if they behave...but nothing works. They just go poop and fly away!
Hmmm. One gull is posing nicely but the other two are playing hard to get. Although I live inland, seagulls live here too especially close to fast food places that serve French fries. ;-)
What great shots. I love them all but particularly the first with that beautiful rusty colour base the bird is standing on. Can't work out what that is. A tree? If so, what a colour?
Altho those birds leave a dirty mess behind them, they are lovely looking creatures. They pose very well for you! PS. Still not back permanently. Stay happy while I'm on sabbatical.
@ Jacob - I've been pooped a couple of times, but never inside the harbor. Some kind of truce? @ Jilly - It is the bulbous bow of a ship. @ richard - Incredible! Did you shoot it?

ReplyDeleteThese are really good profiles. Similar but different. I keep trying to pick a favorite but the truth is thaI like each one.
ReplyDeleteWhat does a gull say? I know it's not "Quack, quack!" Cute photos!
ReplyDeleteEach has a distinct personality. They all seem to have a sense of humor. Good shots, VP.

ReplyDeleteVery nice series of portraits. Gulls are like pigeons though. But noisier.
ReplyDeleteThese birds are skinnier compares to Montreal gulls. They're all fat and fluffy.

ReplyDeleteDid you hypnotize those - how did you make the pose so nicely?
