Citroën DS
The Citroën DS was a revolutionary car for its time, designed by Flaminio Bertoni. It was the first mass production car equipped with disc brakes. ‘DS’ is pronounced in French as ‘Déesse’, which means goddess.

Usually cars are considered antique after 25 years: I guess this Volkswagen Beetle is definitely ‘antique’.

Bizzarrini 1900 GT Europa
The 1900 “Europa” was a small GT car produced by Bizzarrini between 1966 and 1969, powered by either an Opel or an Alfa Romeo engine. Only 17 cars of this type were ever made.
Giotto Bizzarrini is a Livornese engineer (actually he was born in Quercianella in 1926) who had worked for both Alfa Romeo and Ferrari before starting his own firm. In 1962 he designed a 3.5 liter V12 engine for Ferrucio Lamborghini which, in its basic layout, is still used today. He kept producing beautiful cars like this one, but never managed to get the recognition of most widely known brands of sport cars.

Fiat 501 Torpedo
The impressive hood ornament of a 1925 Fiat 501 Torpedo.
On the sphere we can read “Carrozzeria Garavini” (Garavini coachbuilder).
This vintage car, with many other of the kind, was on display in Piazza della Repubblica last Sunday.

Tuscany and its People
“La Toscana e la su' gente” (Tuscany and its People) is a rally of vintage cars and motorcycles that took place this weekend in Livorno.
On Sunday the vehicles were on display in Piazza della Repubblica.
It is quite strange to see cars like these on our streets...
