Just a few more shots about the ambience of the new premises of the Belforte bookstore in via Roma.

Speaking of distances from Livorno, Rome and Santiago de Compostela seem quite right, Jerusalem should be much nearer than that, but we are probably speaking of pilgrimage routes. We also have a ‘disinformation desk’ which is a glass top resting on four piles of books.

Belforte, via Roma

Belforte bookstore, Via Roma, Livorno
A few weeks ago we read on its shutters that the Belforte Bookstore had moved to a new location in Via Roma. We have just visited the new shop, which is simply lovely: small, but creatively furnished and decorated.

Considered that it opened early last month the bookstore is understandably understocked, but all the important stuff is already on the shelves. Anyway, looking around you will not surely get bored.

There is also a small stage, a piano is coming soon, and the place also hosts local cultural events almost daily. We will see something more in a few days.

Belforte

Belforte bookstore, Via della Madonna, Livorno
Four years ago the locally renowned “Belforte” bookstore moved from its historic premises in Via Grande to a nearby location in Via della Madonna. It didn't last, and the shop has moved again to a place in Via Roma, slightly outside the city center. The owner wrote on the shutters:

“Mi sono trasferito in via Roma 69, vi porto tutti nel cuore”
(I have moved to via Roma 69, I carry all of you in my heart)

“No Wi-Fi zone, parlate tra voi, che le parole sono importanti!”
(No Wi-Fi zone, talk to each other, because words are important)

Edison Bookstore

Edison Bookstore, LivornoThis bookstore has opened about a week ago: it's huge, central and open till midnight. It has a bar, but not so many books: anyway a nice thing to have a block from home!
