I think I prefer the old side but I have to say, this photo is just outstanding. It looks like a painting. For some reason it makes me think of the painter Magritte.
I love this photo as a composition...it would be good on a wall. It's stark, yet colorful, and raises all kinds of questions in the mind. Excellent work, VP!
Nicely composed, VP. Because my tastes are quite traditional, I like the older building and the older lamp posts, but the newer building seems like it was well designed. However, the modern lamps seem too severe for my tastes.
I'll be curious to see how you feel about it when it's been around a while.
