Mazzini and a Beer

Bust of Giuseppe Mazzini, Piazza Mazzini, Livorno
On Sunday morning it is easy to find empty bottles all around town. Even Giuseppe Mazzini got his own beer, and it is still half full. If you are curious about the missing C, please read C Eaters.

  1. The beer must be tantalizing for the stiff necked statue.
The "Tuscan throat" and the actual missing C are both pretty funny.

  6. I never knew that about "C Eaters." Very interesting and very unusual. Well, maybe not. Other languages drop letters or at least don't pronounce them ...

It would seem that Giuseppe has already had a bit too much beer. I mean he's almost comatose!

  7. Is it sacrilege to say that I like the beer and its relationship to the bust? And, thanks for the link to explain "C eating." I have heard similar phonetic gaffes, but I didn't know a name for it. In Connecticut, there must be a lot of "T eaters." The City of New Britain is often called New Bri-en, with something like a hiccup in the middle.
