I do not like palms: the only kind of tree that I like even less is a trimmed palm tree.
My grandfather considered pruning trees an art of sorts, which he practiced skilfully, but I am not sure if he knew about palms...

Aw, come on VP! They're cool looking. :-)
ReplyDeletePalms mean places with soft breezes and warm nights. I also liked the palm before it was trimmed, but it will eventually grow back.
ReplyDeleteIt does look a little sad after the "haircut". Does this practice help keep the trees healthier?
ReplyDeleteHow interesting that you don't like palm trees. Since we don't have any here north of Toronto, I was always consider them exotic and often include them in memories of warm places i have visited. ;)
ReplyDeleteSome palm trees I don't like, such as the ones we had around our pool at our old house in Ocala. They dropped black berries all around the pool and in the pool - what a mess and they had to be trimmed at least twice a year at some expense!
ReplyDeleteLiving in a land of palm trees, I see trimming going on all the time. I do however, see what you mean in this photo. The big full tree is much nicer looking than the trimmed one.
ReplyDeleteThis one ends up looking like it had a buzz cut.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they had to be trimmed!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness your caption made me laugh!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful shots. Lovely palms.
ReplyDeleteThey do look a bit weird, even stripped, after a severe trimming.
