Our city-owned garbage collection company is in trouble: it has a big hole in its balance sheet.
Yesterday some of its drivers staged a demonstration driving their trucks in
Piazza del Municipio, just in front of
Town Hall.

They're not that different from our trucks.
ReplyDeleteI hope for everybody's sake that they're back to work soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope the garbage doesn't start piling up.
ReplyDeleteThat's a scene I've never seen!
ReplyDeleteI hope they sort the problem soon, such a necessary service.
ReplyDeleteP.s. VP your 'Almost Deserted' image was fantastic and your 'Photographers in Paris' images oh la! Beyond brilliant, j'adore!
Hopefully they solve the problem soon, otherwise you get a bigger problem...
ReplyDeleteDoes the hole in the balance sheet mean the employees must take a pay cut and that's what they're demonstrating about? It sounds just like our city where the people in charge can find money for all kinds of nonsense but find it much harder to take care of people.
ReplyDeleteI hope at least they didn't dump the trash anywhere. :(
ReplyDeleteTrash collectors do hard work, I hope everything works out in the end for both sides.
A very necessary service so I hope they get the budget sorted out.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, we can't do without them.
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like France. As long as the strike doesn't last until you have rats running all over the place, you're fine...
ReplyDeleteUH-OH! I'm glad my town has contracts for garbage collection. Lot less smelly!
ReplyDeleteThat's not very good at all.
