Citroën DS

Citroën DS, Livorno
The Citroën DS was a revolutionary car for its time, designed by Flaminio Bertoni. It was the first mass production car equipped with disc brakes. ‘DS’ is pronounced in French as ‘Déesse’, which means goddess.

  3. I've always liked the quirky, and oh so French, looks of the Citron DS. It was at the cutting edge of technology when new. Had a friend who owned one, but I never did.

  5. I don't think I've ever seen one of these in the flesh (so to speak) but I like it a lot - those sleek lines and gentle curves...it's beautiful!

  7. My family owned one of these (exact colour too!) in the 1970s... it was such a comfortable, roomy car. My brother and I loved it when the engine started and you could feel the car rising up :-)
