They really are quite distinctive birds!
ReplyDeleteNot really attractive birds, but very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen one of these.
ReplyDeleteCormorants are quite common in Florida, as are their cousins anhingas. Cormorants are also found in New England.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a big bird, never seen it. Lovely images.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy new week.
Wow , first pic is amazing :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, VP! We have some of these but I think we have more of their cousins - the anhinga. It's great fun to watch them fish ... they come popping out of the water, then dive again, and then pop up several meters away!
ReplyDeleteThey look like they're posing for you. They are at least nicer looking than Canada geese! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this bird here up in Scandinavia.
The top image is just perfect!

ReplyDeleteLowell - Very good! It was the pose that made me a bit suspicious...
ReplyDeleteAreas around Toronto are being overrun by them. They put so many nests in the trees that the trees die and they push other birds out of the area.
ReplyDeleteAnd you got superb portraits!
ReplyDeleteThey pose for you so nicely.
ReplyDeleteTop photo came out nicely.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent photos and bird.
ReplyDeleteStrange somehow, to see webbed feet on a brick wall.
