Red Sky at Night

Red sky at night, Livorno
“Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.
Red sky at night, sailor's delight.”
(Picture taken on January 2nd)
By the way, it is almost the same in Italian:

Rosso di sera, bel tempo si spera,
rosso di mattina, mal tempo si avvicina.
(Red at night, good weather is hoped,
red in the morning, bad weather approaches.)

  2. The Italian has more "music" to the phrase; sounds far more rhythmical than the English.

    It is a blazing sky,

  4. Not just those vivid colors, but the texture -- wow!
We could make up some new sayings.
"Red sky whenever, photographer be clever."

  9. How interesting that the sayings are nearly the same. This is a beautiful sunset and I hope the next day really was a nice one.
