The chapel of San Giuseppe is part of the hospital complex of the
Spedali Riuniti (United Hospitals), built in the 1930s on a project of the architect Ghino Venturi.
The stained glass windows of the chapel are a work of Athos Rogero Natali, the elder brother of the well-known Livornese painter Renato Natali.

A beautiful sanctuary inside. It doesn't feel too over the top, though.

ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful inside and outside. The architect seems to have used a style that is respectful of the older buildings in Livorno.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is breath-taking! We have small chapels in some of our hospitals here but nothing like this. The interior is very beautiful and I like the way the digital photography presents very cool colors. I also like the exterior - it has a strong symbolic presence.
