The bike just emphasizes the scale of the church! The simplicity of its design is deceiving. Without the bike, it doesn't look big at all.

The church must have special memories for you. When you were smaller that huge door must have seemed even higher. Glad to hear the word parvis being used. I learned it in connection with the Holy Sepulchre.
