All the cruise ships calling at the port of Livorno usually arrive in the early morning and leave in the late afternoon for another night of sailing. Some passengers are watching from their balconies during the departure of the “Liberty of the Seas”.The 339-meter ship, which carries 3600 passengers and a crew of 1300, is owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International. The tug “Francesca Neri” is escorting the “Liberty of the Seas” beyond the entrance of the port.

Great photos, VP. This cruise ship is simply beyond my imagination. Then again, I have restricted my cruising to river cruises with maybe 150-180 passengers.
ReplyDeleteThat's BIG!
ReplyDeleteWow! It would be fun to take a trip on that!
ReplyDeleteAwesome VP! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteYes! Isn't she beautiful! Liberty of the Seas is sister ship to our ship, Freedom of the Seas! :) We will return to Freedom on June 17 in Port Canaveral, Florida. Wonderful images, VP!!!
ReplyDeleteThe tug boat looks so small.
ReplyDeleteThis is like a luxury HLM...
ReplyDeleteJust explaining ciel: HLM (habitation à loyer modéré) is rent-controlled housing in France.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo especially is so dramatic. It gives me a new appreciation for tugboat crews.
ReplyDeleteyou really capture the sense of this being a floating city.
ReplyDeleteExcellent images VP, even better when you bring them in closer to see more of the detail, nice work!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shot on top, VP! Love it. The more I see these cruise ships (and I see a lot in Lisbon) the more I know I will never be travelling in one.
ReplyDeleteHuge and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEcco un'altra città galleggiante! E' davvero impressionante...ciao, Arianna
