La stüa

La stüa Inn, via Magenta, LivornoThe word stüa is not Italian but Ladin, a language still spoken in some parts of Northern Italy. It literally means stove, but up North the word was often used for a wood-panelled dining room where the stove was.

  3. I like the lettering. You'll have to go and tell us all about it but don't drink water!

  6. I want not to believe that, but it makes a catchy saying and sign.
I only recently learned about the existence of Ladin (through the Bolzano blog).
