The street called “Scali Cialdini” follows the “Canale dei Francesi” to which you get easy access through a sloping cobbled pavement with brick walls reaching the canal almost at water level. Not far, you can see the compass rose described in another post.

Seems like a nice place for walks VP.
ReplyDeleteI love cobbled pavement...it's rare here anymore, usually torn up when resurfacing a street! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteSo this is where you take your photography walks, VP.
ReplyDeleteI really like that pavement too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others...that pavement is quite nice.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the paving stones. Must be quite some work to lay those.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a complicated pattern on the cobblestone pathway VP, looks good and with the little boats tied up in the background. A bit different from your last post, wow how big is that boat that it makes the lifeboats seem so tiny!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so pleasant when someone is guiding you on the streets of an unknown town. Thank you, VP, for showing us, your Livorno!
ReplyDeleteVery nice pavement post.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have a pyramid too.
I would love to go down those steps to near the water.
ReplyDeleteThe cobbled pavement is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLéia
nicely described and illustrated.
ReplyDeleteNice place for walks:)
ReplyDeleteMost of our cobblestone streets have been replaced. A classic bumpy ride, no more.
ReplyDeleteReally unique stairs! I can see how it connects to the compass rose...the brick road is lovely :D
ReplyDeleteYes, the cobbled pavement is really, it has an antique urban essence.

One of my favorite memories of Italy are the numerous cobbled pavements. It just demonstrates the care and attention to artistic detail that makes your country so delightful to visit.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the combination of cobblestone and brick. At least here.
ReplyDeleteNice shape..... in the last photo.
