Navy and Stamps

Stamps, 150th anniversary of the Italian NavyA set of four stamps issued to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the “Marina Militaire” (Italian Navy) on last June 10.
One of the stamps is dedicated to our “Accademia Navale” (Naval Academy) and another to the training ship “Amerigo Vespucci”, whose home port is Livorno (she is here just now).Postmark, 150th anniversary of the Italian Navy, LivornoOne of the five special postmarks for the occasion was applied in the Central Post Office of Livorno.

    Very good, VP. Livorno has its own American connection through the Amerigo Vespucci ship. And today you have many, many American connections of your own!

    I could easily become an avid stamp collector, these are fantastic VP, small square depicting a time in history, so very cool!!

    I have a "thing" about stamps...always choose them carefully when I'm sending cards or letters off to friends. Yes, I still insist about sending snail mail.
