“Piazza Guerrazzi” without the “The Majesty of the Law”. Looking at the uniform in the old picture, the man was probably a soldier and not a policeman. We are again comparing a 1900 picture from the book “
In Tuscany” with the same place today.
“The Majesty of the Law” by Pietro Rossini (circa 1900)

These are great!
ReplyDeleteThe building still looks great.
ReplyDeleteThis is fun. The building looks the same. The old uniform is impressive.
ReplyDeleteI'm always amazed at the fanciness of the old uniforms and hats.
ReplyDeleteThe horse and carriage is fun to see too.
Apart from the peoples clothes nothing has changed much VP, love 'now and then' comparisons.
ReplyDeleteIt is terrific to see the two scenes compared. The uniform is quite remarkable.
ReplyDeleteExquisite idea to compare old photos with new scenes.
ReplyDeleteEstupendas las fotos. Como siempre un placer volver por tu espacio.

Not that many changes but it looks so much more lively back in ca. 1900...
ReplyDeleteI love when you show us a kind of time line, these two pictures are beautiful.
