    If I recommended a new tourism campaign for Italy saying "Come visit Italy for our 150 years of history," would that be popular? I started at 1861 when the nation was unified.

  3. Bizarre, even a bit dopey. Che advocated taking from the rich and giving to the masses. Pirates took anything from anybody and gave it to themselves.

  5. @ Jack - People who weren't formally Italians did something before that and wrote profusely about it, in Latin and other languages.
    They made things that still stand all over the Mediterranean and even up North.
    So we have a history, that we probably don't deserve, and that is why real history began in North America so late.
    It was much different in Central and South America, but this is another story...
