The “Ponte dei Sospiri” (Bridge of Sighs), the old Custom House on the left, and the barracks of the “Guardia di Finanza”.The “Canale dei Francesi” (Frenchmen's Canal) was dug in 1799 by the French troops to link the Old Harbor with the New Harbor.

The cobbles in the first photo are so wonderfully laid out. I can't imagine that a very large boat could fit underneath the bridge of sighs.
