So near to sea, our love padlocks are getting rustier by the day.You are probably familiar with this lamp post from the left picture in our header. It was taken when the post was still in better shape.
I have seen love padlocks in Paris, but now also in Italy. Goes well with what we scandinavians have heard about the latin - passion - love! :) I liked the top text and the photos, PLUS the BLUE sky!:)
The padlock tradition is such an interesting one. I have never seen it here...but since love is involved I expect to see padlocks growing on bridges or lamp posts any day.
I remember your love-pad locks post...I hope the rust just binds the lock tighter! Pretty harsh environment to rust the lamp post so quickly...I adore that photo. Of course, the title brings back memories of listening to Neil Young...saw him in concert when I worked as an usher at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion (serious classical music concert hall) in November of '76.
There are Love Locks all around Southern Utah. Lovelocks, Inc. is erecting "Lovescapes" where ever anyone wants them as a home for the padlocks. Check out www.lovelocksonline.com
What an interesting place to put them!

ReplyDeleteI agree with Luis the padlocks are my favorite too.
ReplyDeleteI have seen love locks in Cinque Terre and other European locations, but never in the U.S. It is a sweet tradition.
ReplyDeleteI read the links and love the "tradition!" Perhaps we old folks should start a tradition here in USA for all the younguns!!
ReplyDeleteRust happens!!! I kinda like rust on some things. and anytime you live by so much water you probably will have rusty objects. MB
ReplyDeleteRust can be beautiful, here in the allegory of love. The lamp post is another story...
ReplyDeleteI hope the undying love promised by those looks is not rusting as well.
