The “Giglio”, named after the island of the Tuscan Archipelago, is the newest bunkering tanker of the D'Alesio Group's fleet. She is one of the now rare ships built in Italy, at the Giacalone Shipyard in Mazara del Vallo. Here the tanker is feeding fuel oil to the ferry “Moby Corse”, with her distinctive bunch of cartoons.
This seems very interesting trip on the cruise.
ReplyDeleteAnother place that I went to visit
Maybe you explained it in an earlier post, but why is the ship covered with cartoons?
ReplyDeleteThat is cool. So glad you captured them.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. I guess I never thought about where ships get their fuel. Thanks for the new word bunker/ing.
ReplyDeleteLove that first shot. Looks like a winter sky, almost a snow sky.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go inside there, the Giglio looks small near the Moby! :)
ReplyDeleteI love those decorations!
Wonderful pictures!

The Giglio looks very chic compared to the very flamboyant Moby Corse ;-D
ReplyDeleteI love them!
ReplyDeleteThis bottom image is so cool with that ominous sky.
ReplyDeleteThe sky does add a lot of drama to the second photo. I do like the colorful ship, it looks quite festive.
ReplyDeleteGreat title, VP!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Giglio was an island! I once had a student with the last name Giglio so now I'm wondering if his family came from there.
