Colorful shutters in “Via di Salviano”. This “cantina” offfers free home delivery of wines, bottled or from the cask.I think “Il bello delle donne” (The beautiful thing about women) is inspired by an Italian TV series. “Modì” was the nickname of Amedeo Modigliani and is still used by countless unrelated shops in town.
VP, these are wonderful! They would never allow those in DC.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting and beautiful a sight. Surely a much greater way to present a business than most over here. Please have a good Wednesday.

Those are amazing. Nice find!
ReplyDeleteThis fashion is spreading, and it's a good thing. About Modi shops, we call it the Gaudi syndrom here.
ReplyDeleteA shutter tour! Makes the street more bright and happy.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should teach our shopkeepers about painting their gray, drab shutters.
Wow, they are all pretty and so much nicer than just the grey color....
ReplyDeletePLEASE send some sunshine further north!
We have "non-stop-rain".
Ah I wish the French would do this too, there are so few of them, all are just grey and dreary. These are great, even sensual for one of them!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely my favourite is the first one:)
ReplyDeleteI like so much this idea! And I also would like to shop in Cantina di Cenaia, I bet the wine is great!

You have such fancy and creative shutters in Livorno! I also like the orange cover in the second photo :D
ReplyDeleteThey are all spectacular!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done shutters. The first one looks old fashioned, but I like it a lot. The second and third look very modern and eye catching.
ReplyDeleteYou find the best things on your walks! I love these. :)
ReplyDeleteSimple pictures against the pastel backdrop. Nice
ReplyDeleteFantastic shutters! Are they really painted or is it some already printed stuff you just 'glue' on them?
ReplyDeleteTutte belle e fantasiose le saracinesche di Via Saviano, ma la mia preferita è la prima e per non dar adito ai pettegolezzi dico anche che sono astemia.AH!AH!AH!
ReplyDeleteNice series. I hope they deliver free to Sweden!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like these shutters... and do you think I can get a couple of bottles of Barbaresco delivered to me?
ReplyDeleteIs it a Livorno thing or just a new fad?
ReplyDeleteDitto to what Francisca said, but make it a Vernaccia, please.

I wish all our shutters had murals like these! They look great!
ReplyDeleteA perfect post coming as it does from a shutterbug.
ReplyDelete@ Eleonora - I would say that this is a very local fad in “Via di Salviano”...
