Blue Night Walk

Last Saturday there was something called “Blue Night”, one of those silly ideas trying to enliven cities with some late-night cheap “events”. I think that the name they picked is perfect for the mood of the night, so we ignored the events and had a walk instead. In “Via Grande” these folks asked for a picture and I was glad to please them. These guys organized a blues night instead of a “Blue Night”.I liked this “Still life on a blue chair” in the windows of Bershka......where “Via Grande” meets Route 66.Coming home, well after midnight, from my favorite spot on the bridge of the “Mercato Centrale”. On the left “Scali degli Olandesi”, in the middle “Piazza Cavour” and on the right “Scali Saffi”.

  1. In Paris they have a "white" night where all the museums are open all night and such. It's really neat. I like the idea of a blue night too. I think we should do a "blues" night here in Jackson!

  2. Silliness prevails all over the world...but it can be rather fun. I especially like the Route 66 sign...Lois and I drove that many times back in the late 50s and 60s when going from Minnesota to Arizona.

The night shot from the bridge is just delightful...digital night photos bring out great colors!

  4. What a cool idea. Blue Night did turn into Blues Night. I am going to go to a Blues Night in July at Ritzville Wa. It's a fun time too.
I really like all the photos you shot. And the last one as you toddle on home is excellent.

As regards to wild roses there are several Native Wild Roses here. One is the Nootka Rose (that is pictured) that is Native to Northern California to Alaska--and Ore. and Wa. in between. They just grow wild--in the ditches, in the woods anywhere and are very charming. Also in one's yards. MB

  6. I like city silly ideas, too. After all, I'm from the town that brings young cows parading down main street every year. Blue Night by comparison is quite sophisticated.

  10. This is a nice change from your usual Sunday morning walks. I like the fun stuff you found in the store windows. I think I would've spend some time listening to the blues musicians on the street. And your quiet canal is the perfect way to end the night.

  11. Lovely night shot, so peaceful. Was the blues any good?
Bershka has some of the most yucky clothes I know but I have to admit I like the window!

  13. Hello VP
I feel like I could be there walking by your side, it's cool and I love your pictures!
This set is really spectacular! Those guys at the first shot are adorable, I think they are enjoying the music just over there and then, they are playing around enjoying the colors of the night. Finally they end up in some boat just to take a nap, as my kitty use to do. :)
    Have a great week,
    hugs
