Footwear

I am a mostly black shoes guy, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw these highlighter shoes on a stall of a seasonal market.Fancy Disney flip-flops, but the story is always the same...A bunch of colorful Crocs... with a reflection.

  2. I totally agree with you VP. It is either black or brown. But highlighter color is a bit too much for me.

  3. Photo number 1: Oh, yuk!

Photo number 2: Flip-flops hurt my toes, so I never wear them.

Photo number 3: I hate these things - they look stupid.

    Very colorful post, though!

It's rather amazing that some of the same dumb styles make it around the world. But, then again, not really surprising as most of the corporations that peddle this junk are international in scope.

  5. LOL! All too colorful for me too.

It makes me think of La Grand Chartreuse. Can you imagine monks with those first shoes? :)

  6. Being mostly a sandal guy, brown, leather, myself, you'll never see me wearing any of these, even though I seem to be quite famous now for my love of colorful things. We are all people of many contradictions.

  7. Really!! My eyes hurt fron the chartreuse colored shoes. I wouldn't wear any of those either. Now others in my family wear flip-flops---me? NO!!!

  8. Flip flops? Only at the beach and only rarely so. I like black. :-)

  9. Highlighter . . . great name. Yeah, the shoes all look so similar, why bother to travel? Just kidding about the travelling. I'm still looking for the reflection. Is that teeny shaft of light???

  10. @ tapirgal - The two shoes on the left are actually reflected in a mirror.

  11. If the shoe fits...perhaps on one of your walks you'll find the people who go about in this colorful foot apparel.

  12. Think of all the attention you'd get with BRIGHT green shoes! You could draw a lot of people for a "Steffe portrait" photo for your blog ... I wonder if Steffe wears green shoes like that?!

  14. I can only guess the "highlighter" shoes :-) would best be used for night cycling. After spending most of my college days in flip flops, it took my husband about 3 years to break me of wearing them in our much chillier northern climate during winter :-). Now I don't even have a pair. Cool photos for today!

  15. Twenty years ago, I had shoes in all the colors of the rainbow — but highlighter yellow would have been too much for me even back then. And I really hate the original Crocs design despite the fun colors. Some of their new sandals are acceptable.

  16. I wear crocs in the garden. They're easy to clean and lightweight. I also wear flip-flops alot, but these are too colorful. And the highlighter shoes are just too much for anyone!

  17. Those first pair of shoes are so cool. I don't think I would have any place to wear them, however.

  18. It would be hard to sneak up on someone in those shoes!

  19. 1) WOW, 2)FUN :) 3)They used to be very popular here, expensive plastic (!!) and some people used them all the time....

  22. Those sneakers remind me of Michael Johnson's golden shoes when he won bot the 200 & 400! Bright sneakers are in here...but I think I'll stick with my normal sneakers :D
