Of Cats and Gulls

Technically a poor photo, but I like this gull flying toward the sun.For a one-legged bird he seems quite at ease and even smug. One year later, the King of the Harbour is still on his rocky throne.

  1. I wouldn't say it's technically poor photo, first of all - for me is superb, and the King of the Harbour is terrific!!!!

  2. Technically poor? Not! A beautiful shot, actually! Like the gull, too, but the kitty is my favorite...he's been around a long time. Wonder who it belongs to?

  3. That middle gull has great balance. I wonder if he's a victim of the king? :)

  4. Well the King is still looking smug. Ahhh, the good life.

I like your Gull into the Sun photo. What do you mean 'technical'? Just take what you like and that is what says it is good. MB

  5. The King's photo this year makes him look more alert than the one last year when he looks much too relaxed. What a "character" to have hanging around!!

  10. It will be a sad day when we no longer see the King of the Harbour on his throne. I hope you remember to take a picture of him every year.

I'm glad you posted the first photo. I love that his face is turned toward the sun too.

You'd think that gulls were a little too wide-bodied to stand on one leg. That made me smile.

  13. All of the pictures are so cute! I love it when birds stand on one foot like that--as if to say I can do this for hours and you can't!

  15. I like its camouflage! ;-)

I wish all my photos were that technically bad.

  16. How DO birds stand on one leg? Their balance is so much better than mine! LOVE that kitty. It is a survivor.

  19. I love the flying gull. We have one near the office who is always in the dumpster eating trash & making a general mess.
