You jumped in between my two links, lol! These are perfect VP and the colours are so gorgeous! It looks like summer!
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos. They make me feel warm in spite of the cold (and the coming snowstorm) here in NJ.
ReplyDeleteI suppose an old fortress would be a good place to spend a weekend in a reflective mood.
ReplyDeleteHow old is Livorno, VP? The tower on the fortress looks very old. I'm imagining knights in armor charging on horses.
ReplyDelete@ ciel - 'round midnight it's a busy time...
ReplyDelete@ Stine - Sorry, I forgot the link (now it is working): the oldest part of the fortress was built around 12th Century, the more recent in the early 16th Century.
These are beautiful Vogon.
ReplyDeleteWell, you'd have a hard time getting better reflection photos than these! The second one, mirroring the building is exquisite!
ReplyDeleteAh, to live in such a place as this.
ReplyDeleteGreat quality photos and wonderful reflections too.I like the warm colors of the fortress contrasting the blue water in the first one.
ReplyDeleteInteresting buildings, boats, colors and reflections!
ReplyDeleteThese are quite beautiful shots. I'm always amazed when I see such still water. The reflections are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes these are good. And the topics, as usual, are wonderful. It is just that the one you posted on Photo-Stream beats these hands down!!
ReplyDeleteWell ... in my opinion ...
Maybe a silly question but do either one of the two magnificent buildings ever get water in their basements?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. I love it. The water is so calm and the reflections are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou found some great reflections! I like the second one - maybe it's the colors. It's peaceful and just beautiful.
ReplyDelete@ Julie - You are right, but unfair to poor Livorno. Florence is one of the most beautiful cities on Earth: it is far easier to get a lucky shot there than in our neglected port city.
ReplyDelete@ Leif - If they have basements, probably yes...
After so many pictures showing snow and winter landscapes, your pictures suddenly bring us back to summer light!
ReplyDeleteGreat reflections on this perfect sea, like a mirror!
Wow, these are really "monumental" reflections! Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely reflections. I really like the colours.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful place. And the light is so beautiful. You have captured something very charming.
ReplyDeleteI like both of these but the bottom one is outstanding. Great!
ReplyDeleteWow, VP, I love the softness of the reflection! It looks so inviting and would be fun for a quick ride on the boat!
ReplyDeleteLove the second on too!
lovely photos....
ReplyDeleteDear VP, you are an artist!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding pictures!
The second one I can see a building inside the water!
And what a wonderful blue sky! :)
Hugs

Vogon, I know what you mean about getting places in the south of Italy. When I planned our drive from Rome through Sicily, I saw online all these great places to visit, mostly to the east of the big highway in hilly country. When I investigated, I found that it was likely to take days to get to some town with interesting things in it, and we just didn't have that much time. We did take one day driving from Paestum to Polla (not that Polla is a destination, it just happens to be on the highway). It was truly memorable, but it would take forever to travel far on roads like that. However, I *will* scold you for not seeing the south of your most magnificent country! :-p I'd go back in a second.
ReplyDeleteThe water is so still. Beautiful reflections!
ReplyDeleteyour reflections are beautiful! It looks like it could be very warm there if not for all the gear the people are wearing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reflections :) Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous reflections - Italian classics!
ReplyDeleteGrazie di aver mostrato lo splendido paesaggio.
ReplyDeleteDall'Estremo Oriente.
Saluti.
Incredible flat water surface! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow. Beautiful reflections. I love the one below - there has to be a winner :) but both of them are just simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLove these shots, particularly the second one.
