Everyone has his kind of pollution, I live within meters from the exhaust of this coffee roasting plant, hosted inside the market. Almost every morning I spend at home I am “intoxicated” by the delicious smell of their roasting coffee.
This is their roasting machine, it is only a small family store called “
Torrefazione San Paulo”, but the smell of their coffee is very far reaching.

I love the smell of fresh coffee so I wouldn't mind being "intoxicated" by it in the morning :)

ReplyDeleteWe have a coffee roaster in town. I love going out and smelling the air on the days they're roasting beans and I don't even drink coffee.
ReplyDeleteCoffee, coffee, coffee! In the office in the morning, I often say, "I think I smell fresh coffee." Usually my secretary will then walk over to the coffee pot and start it up ...

I seriously miss quite a few of them...( We went to Italy in 2008.) I have never SEEN a big roasting machine like this before. Interesting.
I think it is time for my first cup of coffee NOW!:-)
I think it's not so bad to be polluted by roasting cofe, isn't it?

ReplyDeleteI'm trying to feel the intoxication that you go through everday. Must be wonderful to smell the coffee every day. The structure in the first pic is beautiful! You mentioned that's a small coffee store? The roasting machine looks kinda huge for a small store... :-)

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. It's hard for me to do a post that isn't "Astoria Daily River." But there is so much else to like, it's actually not hard . . . but in the end, the magnetic pull is always back to the water.

The building is great. Now, I don't like coffee... except for that smell of freshly ground beans. This has got to be heavenly!
ReplyDeleteThat is very interesting. Does it make it harder to enjoy coffee? If you are exposed to the scent all the time the receptors may adapt and quit reporting all or parts of the smell. I love coffee - always have a cup in front of me and a pot in the maker. I wonder if the coffee roasting place next door would be too much :)

ReplyDeleteGosh, you're so lucky to be polluted this way! There are only very few things in life I love more than coffee, and the smell of it. I confess having very expensive taste in coffee, to my wife's despair, as she's more into good tea. C'est la vie.

ReplyDeleteThat would be my idea of hell. I hate the smell of coffee being ground/roasted. When I was little, my mum sometimes sent me to buy freshly ground coffee from the coffee shop and it was my least favourite shopping chore. I'm afraid my tastes haven't changed with age.
