This picture was taken from the “ponte della Venezia” (Venice bridge) toward “Scali delle Barchette” (landing of the small boats), trying to emulate the angle of the old postcard.In background we see the reddish “Capitana” bastion of the “Fortezza Vecchia” and the round “Mastio di Matilde”. The “Santa Trinita” bridge, in front of the fortress, is a new incarnation of the old one with the arches. The building with the sloping reddish roof under the crane is the fish market.
The first boat on the right in the old postcard is a “navicello”, along with some other smaller boats.See also: Ponte della Venezia - Scali delle Ancore

Both photos are great. I love the old bridge with arches and the old boat shapes. I'm sure the new boats are more comfortable and practical, though! It's fun to compare.
