Lion head door knocker on the massive front door of a “palazzo” in “Via Marradi”: the lion has a fluent mane and the handle is quite sober, the whole thing looks a bit worn out.
Not far from the first leon head, we have a second version on a front door in “Piazza Cavour”. Here the mane is cropped, the handle quite ornate and everything looks brand new.
Gee, I hope anyone would knock gently on a Monday morning!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the first lion although
ReplyDeleteis a little used...
(il campanello là non funziona, è evidente!)
:-)
Knockers are amongs my favourite details and those are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week:)
Beautiful door knockers
ReplyDeleteNice pair of knockers!
ReplyDeleteOh, Steffe, you couldn't resist, could you. I love the aged patina of the first.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful items. All but vanishing over here.
ReplyDeleteI like both of these...in the second one the poor lion looks scared to death. Probably afraid he's going to get knocked around again!
ReplyDeleteNice shots, VP...put a smile on my face which is a good way to start the day!
The lion with the short hair also has a more ferocious expression. Both are handsome but I like the first one better, worn-out and all!
ReplyDeleteCan a lion look sad?! I'm trying to find an old knocker at the moment, I would love the sad one. Both nice shots.
ReplyDeleteGreat details! I like especially the first lion:) It has so gentle eyes:)
ReplyDeleteThey are so nice. I love to see such detail.
ReplyDeleteWhat, no doorbell?
ReplyDeleteI like these lions.
ReplyDeleteOh, il mio motivo favorito...
ReplyDeleteSaluti.... da Cinque Terre!
Fio ;-)
I like these. But the knocking sound isn't loud enough:p
ReplyDeleteI like the old lion, but the new one has an interesting shape.
