A shop window in “Via Garibaldi” with captive oranges on a lampshade and unruly sunflowers trying to get away. Not far, on the same street, we find a curious sign.

In Italian the meaning of “L'unghissima” is “the superlative nail” but, ignoring the apostrophe and with the same pronunciation, it also means “very long”.
Oh what a lampshade!
ReplyDeleteMi fa ridere questo gioco di parole:)Che l'idea divertenete!
ReplyDeleteSign is funny, I like it! And the lamp with bars makes very interesting image.
ReplyDeleteDoes it mean "very long nails"? Now you make more curious with those bar and nails.
ReplyDeleteThe first picture is really lovely and the word play... ah it is great fun!!!
ReplyDelete:-)
Thanks!
You are so creative, VP! Bars and nails is a great title. But you also have a great eye to put these two pictures together.
ReplyDeleteGood work!
I agree with Jacob. Thanks for the translations. I couldn't have scratched my way through it without your help.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought English was hard.
ReplyDeleteI don't like my nails too long otherwise I can't type comments on people's blogs!
ReplyDeleteA couple of great photos...and truly creative to put them together.
ReplyDeleteEek, a pun! I (love to) hate puns!
ReplyDeleteLove the first photo with your funny-poignant caption.
Hehe - this play of words is always very funny - so if you want to have beautiful nails you must be patient - two informations in one word:)
ReplyDeleteAh, the escape of the sunflowers! How's that for a movie title?
ReplyDeleteVery clever logo!
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the lampshade and sunflowers and the L'unghissima logo is really clever too. Thanks for sharing.
