It's probably not far from the truth to say that these images are about a century apart. I shot this photo from “Piazza Cavour” using the old postcard as a model: you can see the same buildings, the same railings, with an addition of dumpsters, cars and boats.
Wow! Nothing has changed. What's impressive is the materials they built with. It has stood the test of time.
ReplyDeleteYes nothing has changed - still the same.
ReplyDeleteYou can see some old postcard pictures of Italy on my " Pictures of Italy " Blog.
Molto bello questo confronto. Tutto in effetti pare identico. Ma guarda un po', ecco laggiù, una banca!!
ReplyDeleteNot true that nothing has changed. And the small details, the changes, are fascinating. Also a lesson that good design and good construction endure. The many men who built these structures left a legacy.
ReplyDeleteFascinating!
ReplyDeleteNothing has really changed except for modern transportation.
ReplyDeleteSure looks the same.
