The 261-meter container ship “Zim Texas” entering the port of Livorno.
She was assisted by the tugs “Francesca Neri” and “Porto di Livorno”.
The “Zim Texas” has a capacity of 4,200 TEU (Twenty-foot equivalent unit), but the ship is loaded mostly with forty-foot containers (2 TEU each). (Photos taken last April)
It looks well loaded.
ReplyDeleteShips like this always makes me wonder what's inside the containers. Some bike inner tubes maybe? :-)
ReplyDeleteIt does look weighted down!
ReplyDeleteIn whatever units, it is simply hard to imagine such a big load capacity.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder what's inside all those containers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sight to see! These ships are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are superb! What a massive ship!
ReplyDeleteYou wonder how those little tugs can pull such a load, but I guess it's more about guiding than weight when in the water.
ReplyDeleteThey always look so top heavy when loaded up!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful VP.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a big shipment!
ReplyDeleteAlthough a common sight here, it always amazes me, especially when well photographed as this one is.
