Tirreno-Adriatico

Tirreno-Adriatico 2010, LivornoNo national or foreign leader is visiting Livorno, this is the police escort opening the “Tirreno-Adriatico”, an annual bicycle race that this year starts from Livorno.Tirreno-Adriatico 2010, LivornoIt is called the “race of the two seas” because it crosses Italy from coast to coast in several stages.Tirreno-Adriatico 2010, LivornoThis 2010 edition will finish next Tuesday in San Benedetto del Tronto, on the Adriatic sea.

    This is great subject matter. I especially like the large version of the top photo. The perspective with the zoom is cinematic.

    Oh wow, what a great trio of shots! I can feel the excitement even from way over here. Based on what the bikers are wearing, it looks like it's going to be a cold ride. And I love that last photo of so many bikes on top of so many cars — I've never seen anything like it.

    @ Per - Not with this weather: they passed through the center very quickly and without much fuss. There were practically no spectators.

    @ Hilda - The service cars of the various teams follow the race and have spare bikes for almost every rider.
